This is just another example of a further change to traditional processes in the current climate. This will expedite the approvals and registration process for developments. As of tomorrow 27 April 2020, the Titles Registry in Qld will kickstart a new process that will facilitate Council's approval or "seal" of plans by way of approving an image of the survey plan (for example sent to it via email). Further, the registered owner's consent to the survey plan can also be provided on a modified consent form to allow for signing and transmitting electronically. The traditional process has always been a wet signature by both council and owner. In my view, this is a very welcome change to the overall process of survey plans for developments to be approved and signed. In the future, this process should then allow the Titles Registry to facilitate elodgement of survey plans.
