In this very interesting episode, we discuss the ins and outs of the Personal Property Securities Register that came into play around 2012. Whether you intend to lodge a PPSR security, search the registry to see if a chattel (e.g. motor vehicle, trailer, caravan etc) has a security registered over it before you purchase, or request the withdrawal of an existing security of you dispute its existence, this is a segment for you. The PPSR is often misunderstood and if you are looking to register, search or dispute an existing PPSR, then you need to obtain proper legal advice. In this segment we discussed a recent win for a client of ours who had a PPSR lodged over its company by a so called creditor who refused to remove it for 2 years. We applied to the Registrar on the PPSR and got it removed after 2 weeks. The company is now free to borrow and use funds to expand its business. The show was designed to give back to the community which Despina did in droves.
