As COVID continues to be an emerging issue in society, in this segment we discuss the difficult situation where parents separate and have differing views as to whether their child or children should receive the COVID 19 vaccine, particularly when the medical debate is ongoing. It is always best for parents who share responsibility for their children, regardless of what type of parenting orders are in place, to try and amicably resolve the issues. However, where this is not possible, it has been determined by the Family Court previously that the court does has jurisdiction to make orders as to a child's vaccination status.
