We recently had to fix a problem caused by an agent on the Gold Coast to protect our buyer client, but the problem should never have occurred. It could happen to you. We checked a contract for our buyer client before she signed. Then over the weekend a particular condition she absolutely needed in the contract to protect her, was removed by the agent, without the contract being sent to us again for checking before she signed. Catastrophic! A warning to all buyers, firstly a) get your contract checked by an experienced property lawyer and b) do not allow changes to be made to your contract without them being checked again by an experienced property lawyer. Buyers are not expected to know the legal ramifications of removing vital conditions on the say so of the agent. Take a listen!
