In this segment we discuss Director Penalty Notices and the ATO being on the war path this year. It is no secret that the ATO has been vigilantly pursuing companies, business owners and individuals for unpaid tax this year following our long 2 year stint of COVID when all and sundry was on hold. Since 1 June 2022 the ATO have issued more than 50,000 Director Penalty Notices for unpaid company tax. A frightening thought! Be sure to listen in to understand how directors can be personally liable for the unpaid debts of their company and how it is more important than ever to conduct proper due diligence into a company before you decide to assume all liabilities and become a director.
